Did you know Frome has it's own community owned renewable energy co-op?
FRECO is committed to developing community owned renewable energy in Frome, enabling us to move to a greener and fairer future.
FRECO installed its first two solar roofs at Frome Medical Practice and Frome Football Club in 2016, funded through a community share offer. Since then we have been exploring developing Frome's first wind turbine, and a microgrid feasibility study at Saxonvale.
Profits from our projects go into the FRECO community fund which has been funding energy saving measures and emergency support for people struggling with their bills over winter.
We have some exciting new projects in the pipeline but as an organisation run on volunteer power alone, we need more hands to grow and have impact.
